Farmer Polly was born and raised in Minas Gerais, Brazil, a place she will always call home. From a young age, Polly connected with nature in a very special way. Being in Brazil, this was both a challenge and a privilege. She had the opportunity to enjoy and learn from nature, creating a deeper respect and appreciation for it.
During her time in university she had a unique opportunity to study permaculture and very quickly fell in love with the ethics and design principles (earth care, people care and fair share) that forever changed her perspective. The beauty found within the ideas surrounding sustainability and permanent life, altered the way she sees the world and lives her life. In 2009, she moved to Peru where she studied gastronomy and it was inside the school, Le Cordon Bleu, that she learned the skills to combine French technique with good food to bring the ideas of farm to table to life.
In 2012, she moved to Wisconsin and found her tribe working with Victory Garden Initiative, a nonprofit organization bringing communities together to create a socially just food system for all. In 2015 when Polly and Kris first stepped foot on the land now named Two Girls and A Farm, Polly was convinced the south facing property was the perfect place to build a food forest and begin her service to the local surrounding community.
